Keenan Lowery:
Keenan Lowery is a native Memphian, a dedicated community leader, advocate, public speaker, political strategist, communications professional, brand ambassador, and mentor. After receiving his GED from Messick Adult School, he earned his bachelor’s in criminal justice from Lane College in 2018. While at Lane College, Keenan became a member of the Beta Pi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, led the Student Government Association as President, was recognized by the Governor of Tennessee for volunteerism, and was an HBCU All-Star for the White House under the Obama Administration.
After graduating, Keenan returned to Memphis to drive positive change in the community he was born and raised in. He served at City Leadership/ Choose901 to recruit, develop, and catalyze leaders to and in Memphis. He worked on building economic pipelines to opportunities for over 2400 young professionals. Keenan is also the founder of The Dreams Foundation; an organization committed to igniting young professionals and providing opportunities to create change in the community of Memphis. The Dreams Foundation hosts programming where hundreds of families get access to resources for educational advancement. Keenan uses the lessons he has learned on his life journey to share across the country in seminars, panels, conferences, churches, schools, and communities. Keenan is currently pursuing his master’s in public administration with a certification in Local Government Management at the University of Memphis.
Keenan serves as the Communications Operations Administrator for the City of Memphis under the leadership of Mayor Paul A. Young. He is also a graduate of MACE, Leadership Memphis Leadership Tennessee, and serves as a liaison for the Mayors Young Professionals Advisory Council. Keenan is a 40 under 40 urban elite professional, 20 under 40 alumni society member, and the outstanding young alumnus of the year. Keenan lives by Esse, Non-Videri, to be, not to seem.
